Eco friendly Cleaning

The words “eco friendly,” “natural,” as well as “organic” are used quite a lot lately. In fact, they are already adopted by domestic cleaners in the UK. Yet not everyone has a very clear idea about it. How do you know it is really eco friendly cleaning?

It uses the most natural cleaning agents.

Baking soda, vinegar, and water are three of the most used components in cleaning a home. If there is no vinegar available, lemon is a good substitute. As you can see, these three are very natural and most definitely found in your kitchen.

It stays away from anything artificial.

If used commercially such as for cleaning multiple homes and buildings, it is possible for manufacturers or domestic cleaners to enhance their effectiveness. They would include more components, especially those that would make them last longer. However, in order for them to stay environment friendly, the extra ingredients should not be artificial agents or fragrances.

It also deals with the actual processes.

Besides the cleaning materials used, natural cleaning may also refer to the actual processes. For instance, some domestic cleaners use steam vacuum cleaning machines for hard floors since all they need is water. If electricity is used, cleaning time may be designed to be short but already efficient.

It is also important for domestic cleaners to properly allot just enough cleaning agents to make sure they do not waste them and have to spend more in manufacturing.

It is all about the packaging.

Natural cleaning may also extend to the packaging of the products. Instead of plastics, they may come in boxes or tins. This way, the packaging can be used over and over. Domestic cleaners may simply print out their contact details in their uniforms rather than hand out credit cards to minimise waste of paper. They also maintain their own websites so majority of inquiries will be redirected there—less use of phone and more time to be productive.

It may also focus on the partners.

The domestic cleaners may be using environment-friendly products or follow green processes, but still, they do not pass as completely natural for one thing: their partners. Perhaps their suppliers do not stick to environment-friendly laws and protocols. They could be throwing their waste onto rivers and other bodies of water. They may also waste a lot of their raw materials, as well as time and power.

It has something to do with the right certifications.

Domestic cleaners are not forced obtain certifications. However, you will surely feel more comfortable dealing with them if they possess some of them. There are already different organisations that can provide them the certification. These include Green Clean Institute and Green Seal.

Note:

Beware of products and services that are labelled “natural” or “organic.” Further your research, making sure you can definitely study the ingredients and processes. There is no clear definition for these words, but normally, for a product to be considered natural, its components should be 70 percent organic or natural.
